Who Wound All This Paper...?

Here's another waaaay too popular punch line! I'll try to guess what order they go in, but I might be miles off.

Corn Cob

I think this is the earliest in the group. It's by Bob Hall, the cowboy illustrator, and copyrighted 1950. It's card #127, and mine is unused.

Corn Cob

Here's a card by Elmer Anderson, copyrighted and postmarked 1951. Interesting note - this is the only card showing someone with his pants down. But we don't want to think about this...

Corn Cob

Here is Bob Petley's (another cowboy illustrator) version, postmarked 1969. It's card C-16.

Corn Cob

This card is number 33-C by Baxter Lane Company.

Corn Cob

This is G 50 from The Continental Publishing Co.

Corn Cob

I like this card a lot - the bee nest under the overhang, Lil' Abner with the straw hanging out of his mouth... a masterpiece by E.F.Clements

Corn Cob

This chrome is copyrighted 1967, published by Noble Post Cards.

Corn Cob

And here is living proof that if you wait long enough, ANYTHING will come back into style. This must be the bell bottoms of postcards. This is a large chrome by Wyoming Trading co.
