Sears Homes
Here is one of several examples from the Sears Roebuck 1926 House catalog that I have
in reprint from Dover Publishers. To be fair the large majority of homes did come with an indoor bath, but it
obviously wasn't out of the ordinary to build one without!
Cosy, aint it!
Naturally, they sold the neccessary addition....
The Alps is a vacation home, so the "no-bath" option isn't extrodinary, but I think it's cool to see in 1926 you
could have a cottage for $750, and for $222 more, get a bathroom in it! Gee - I think I'd spring the extra!
